About The Project

Raising Frankenstein is my first fully completed graphic novel. A horror/drama graphic novel set in the late 1940s. This is an adaptation of Mary Shelly’s famous work, asking the question of, “what if Victor Frankenstein had not considered his creature a failure?” The story is about Vittoria Fabricius, an aspiring scientist immigrating away from fascist Italy, attempting to resurrect her daughter Aurora, who was killed in a church bombing during the war before they could leave. After arriving in America she enlists the assistance of local mortuary worker Henri Clerval. She offers to pay Henri to collect parts from dead children for an experimental treatment to help her daughter live (conveniently leaving out that she is already dead). Despite being morally reprehensible to do such a thing, Henri agrees in order to pay off her debts to the mafia.Despite the guilt of her actions, Henri and Vittoria become close during their time working together. But when Henri realizes she has inadvertently helped create a monster child, the three find themselves becoming a strange found family, bound together by crimes against nature. If you are a publishing agent interested in taking on this project, please see my contact information below.to see the first ten pages for query reasons, click the preview button
